Our restaurant João Brandão is an integral part of the Boutique Hotel Quinta da Geia.

Our hotel and restaurant are located in the beautiful scenery of the Serra do Açor and Serra da Estrela mountain ranges in the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital. With privileged and spectacular views it is easy to combine your visit to us by also visiting the local areas of outstanding natural beauty that are all close by.

Our varied menu is conscientiously created with the hands of the owner Frenkel de Greeuw of Dutch nationality. He has given his international cuisine a personal and unique touch. In addition to this international fusion we also offer Portuguese inspired dishes such as Codfish a Lagareiro or Roasted Portuguese Lamb.

Our candlelit restaurant has a comfortable, relaxing and cosy ambience, artwork adorns our walls and our attentive staff aim to ensure your meal with us is an unforgettable experience.

When the sun shines and the nights are warm your meal can also be served on our large terrace with spectacular views of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, far away from any traffic or the disturbances of everyday life. You can thus enjoy the fabulous view that this special place has to offer.

In addition to our more formal dining the restaurant João Brandão also has a bar and outdoor café terrace serving a wide range of drinks and light snacks..

Take some time to catch up with friends and family or for those seeking a refuge for a few moments, enjoy the tranquility of nature in a warm and friendly environment. If the fresh mountain air has opened your appetite this can be satisfied with a something from our light bar menu, why not try our Piri Piri chicken and locally baked traditional bread or maybe an ice cream especially prepared by us.

Our events team can work with you to create personalized special events ranging from weddings, christenings and birthdays to business meetings. Maybe you require some Fado (traditional Portuguese song) between your main course and dessert or fancy a “limber up” with a salsa class! Whatever it is you require we will work hard to create it with you and for you.

Opening Hours:
The restaurant and bar are open seven days a week, whole year round.
Lunch is served from 12:30 to 14:30.
Dinner is served from 19: 30 to 21:15.
We serve bar snacks between 15:00 and 18:00.
The bar opens at 08:00 and closes at 22:30.
